Pirate Ships is the mobile game for those who want to experience the thrill of building and battling epic pirate vessels
Design a frictionless debriefing system to automate post-match feedback for idle gameplay.
Early in the project, I architected a modular debriefing system inspired by the Instagram Stories interaction pattern. By implementing sequential screens with top-mounted progress bars and "hold-to-pause" functionality, I created a frictionless experience perfect for an idle constructor like Pirate Ships. This modular approach allows for dynamic content composition - tailoring the focus to specific mission objectives or win-streak milestones depending on the game mode's requirements.

To close the core loop, I implemented a high-impact loot-splash sequence with rich particle effects upon the player's return to the main hub. This was a strategic "must-have" designed to maximize the dopamine hit, reinforcing the sense of progression and rewarding the player's time spent in the session.
The implementation of a modular debriefing system significantly reduced player friction, while the high-impact reward sequences successfully reinforced the "victory feel." By prioritizing scalability, I created a future-proof framework that allowed the team to easily swap or add content modules for different game modes without additional UI overhead. Playtest data confirmed a marked increase in player satisfaction, specifically highlighting the "juiciness" of the loot-splash feedback and the intuitive, social-media-inspired flow of information.
